The Importance of Color in Out of Home

As people drive past your design, they have a very short window to digest your message. One of the first things processed by your brain is color, so it’s absolutely essential the colors you choose reinforce your message, not distract from it.

Vibrance

Although there are exceptions to every rule, soft tones don’t typically bode well in the out of home medium. Vibrant colors work best by pulling the attention and standing out from the surrounding environment.

Contrast

In addition to choosing the correct color for your billboard, the text should also have the same consideration. If the colors are too similar, it makes for a difficult read and an ultimately ineffective advertisement.

Use of Color on Digital

When advertising on digital faces, it’s important to emphasize color. Digital utilizes the RGB color format, which means it visually creates every color your eye sees using red, blue and green.
