Burkhart-Miller Retires as Burkhart Advertising CEO

On July 1, 2009, Janette “Jenny” Burkhart-Miller retired as Chief Executive Officer at Burkhart Advertising, the area’s largest outdoor advertising company.  She will continue indefinitely as Chairman of the Board.

Mrs. Burkhart-Miller served in the capacity as Chief Executive Officer for thirteen years and has been an involved civic partner who responds to community needs with compassion.   A champion of small local business, Mrs. Burkhart-Miller has nurtured her family-owned company over the years, while training her children to ultimately assume broader leadership positions at Burkhart Advertising.

Jenny Burkhart-Miller has perpetuated the legacy of her father, Charles B. Burkhart, and her husband, W. Scott Miller, who began the company in 1964.  Burkhart Advertising remains true to its original mission, core values and overall vision as its third generation of family leadership assumes greater responsibilities.

At the annual meeting of the Board of Directors of Burkhart Advertising held on June 17, 2009, a unanimous decision was reached to expand the Board to five members and to form an Executive Committee. In the first meeting of the Executive Committee, Charles B. Miller was elected Chief Executive Officer and will remain President of the Media Division.
